A circuit breaker is a switching device with short-circuit and overload protection functions that can be switched on and off with load.

Circuit breakers can be used to distribute electrical power, start induction motors infrequently, and protect power lines and motors. In the event of severe overload or short-circuit and under-voltage faults, they can automatically cut off the circuit. Its function is equivalent to a fuse switch. Combination with overheating and under heating relays, etc. Also, there is usually no need to replace components after the fault current has been interrupted. It has been widely used.

Low-voltage circuit breaker types are divided into frame air circuit breakers(ACB), molded case circuit breaker(MCCB), and miniature circuit breakers(smart circuit breaker)(MCB) according to different structures.

Miniature Circuit Breaker

Take CSQ HYCB1-63(C45) Miniature Circuit Breaker as an example. This kind of circuit breaker is the smallest in size, generally between 1-63A. This kind of circuit breaker is used on equipment at the end of the line and at home.

Its biggest feature is modular assembly.

There are several meanings of “pole”, including the north and south poles of the earth, the positive and negative poles of the circuit, etc. A switch has an incoming (power) end and an outgoing (load) end, which are equivalent to positive and negative poles, so a electrical circuit breaker is called a 1 pole or single pole circuit breaker, and 2P is a 2 pole circuit breaker.

1P: The 1 pole mini circuit breaker can only be used as a separate switch in a single-phase circuit, responsible for cutting off the live wire.

2P: The 2 pole circuit breaker is used in a single-phase circuit and can be used as a main switch or a branch switch, which can cut off the live wire and the neutral wire at the same time, that is to say, there must be a 2P main switch before 1P.

3P: The 3 pole circuit breaker is used in three-phase circuits. For example, three-phase motors must use 3P.

4P: The 4 pole circuit breaker is used in situations where it is necessary to cut off the three-phase live wire and neutral wire at the same time, such as a circuit where power and lighting are mixed.

Note that 1P+N also protects the live wire. Although the neutral wire is connected, when the line fails, only the live wire is disconnected, and the neutral wire is not disconnected.

Now, we already know about 1P, 2P, 3P, 4P circuit breakers.

CSQ has nearly 20 years of experience in circuit breaker production, with a wide range of products and complete models, welcome to inquire.Emali: csq@siqi.cc
